Senatorial bets show no letup in campaigning for Eleksyon 2025
The hot weather notwithstanding, candidates for senator in the upcoming May 2025 elections pursued voters with various campaign activities.
Independent candidate Roberto Ballon joined the 60-day Jubilee March with the Pambansang Kilusan ng mga Samahang Magsasaka (Pakisama) on Wednesday with its Naga City leg.
Former Vice President Leni Robredo met with marchers and farmers as they passed by her hometown.
The March, which began on March 13 and will end on May 12 will cover a distance of 4,330 kilometers from Zamboanga Sibugay to Metro Manila. It aims to raise awareness and advocate for actin against hunger, poverty and social injustice.
Partido Pilipino sa Pagbabago candidate Allen Capuyan continued his campaign activities at New Correla, Davao del Norte with a visit to the Manguangan, Dibabawon, and Mansaka Tribes.
He discussed his People’s Agenda with a representative of fellow senatorial candidate Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, and offered clarifications on the RA 8371 or the Indigenous Peoples' Rights Act of 1997 and HB 9608 or the transfer of the Ancestral Domains Office to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
“Sa Senado at Kongreso, ating isusulong ang mga batas na magtataguyod sa karapatan ng katutubo, kababaihan, kabataan, at iba pang sektor ng lipunan,” he said in a statement.
(At the Senate and the Congress, we will push for laws that will establish the rights of the Indigenous Peoples, women, children, and other sectors of society.)
He also commended the Mangguangan-Dibabawon Cultural Heritage Center.
“Ipinakita nila ang kahanga-hangang pag-unlad ng lugar na dati’y simple at maliit lamang… Ito ang patunay na sa maayos na pamumuno at sipag, posible ang tunay na pag-unlad,” he said.

Independent candidate Colonel Bonifacio Bosita also said that he was in Davao to conduct campaign activities.
Meanwhile, Bunyog Partylist’s David D’Angelo campaigned inside a P2P Bus to Plaridel, Bulacan and joined a labor union in Diliman, Quezon City to campaign for a salary raise, removing “ENDO” jobs, and strengthening labor unions.
He was joined by Partido Lakas ng Masa candidate Attorney Luke Espiritu and Ka Leody de Guzman.
Ariel Querubin announced that he was endorsed by Former President Rodrigo Duterte, according to a statement by Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte.
Independent senatorial candidate Willie Revillame held a motorcade in Cabuyao and Calamba, Laguna for his campaign.
Meanwhile, independent senatorial candidate Ben Tulfo visited Marawi City, Lanao del Sur for his campaign.
