Duterte completes 2025 Senate slate by adding Querubin, Honasan

Former President Rodrigo Duterte has endorsed two additional Senate bets in the 2025 elections: retired Colonel Ariel Querubin and former senator Gringo Honasan, his son Davao City congressman Paolo Duterte said.

“Pinapaabot niya yung pasasalamat sa patuloy niyong suporta sa kanya. Pinapaalam niya sa sambayanang Pilipino na patuloy po suportahan ang PDP Laban 'DuterTen' senators, plus two. Final na, in-endorse ngayon sa loob, pinapaalam sa inyo, si Querubin and Honasan,” Congressman Duterte said in a conversation with his father’s supporters outside the International Criminal Court detention facility in The Hague.

The elder Duterte is currently detained at the facility over alleged crimes against humanity during his deadly war on drugs. He was arrested by Philippine authorities in Manila on March 11 and arrived in the Dutch city the next day. The confirmation of charges hearing at the ICC is scheduled for September 24.

Prior to his arrest, Duterte endorsed and joined on the campaign stage these 10 Senate bets of PDP-Laban, a party which he chairs:

• Senator Bong Go
• Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa
• lawyer-singer Jimmy Bondoc
• lawyer Raul Lambino
• actor Philip Salvador
• lawyer Jayvee Hinlo
• Sagip party-list Representative Rodante Marcoleta
• detained pastor Apollo Quiboloy
• former executive secretary Vic Rodriguez and
• Dr. Richard Mata

Congressman Duterte added that his father is in good health more than a month in detention.

“Okay naman siya. Mas bad boy tingnan. Ngayon, mukhang mayor,” the lawmaker said.

(He’s alright, he looks like a bad boy. He looks like a mayor.)

“Nasa mabuting kalagayan naman. Inalagaan siya nung maayos sa loob,” the lawmaker added.

(He's in good condition. They're caring for him properly inside.)

Both former President Duterte and his son Pulong are running for an elective post in the May 12 polls.
