Sara’s endorsement could boost my votes —Bato

Senatorial candidate Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said on Sunday that Vice President Sara Duterte's endorsement could significantly boost his chances in the upcoming May 2025 national and local elections.

"Malaking boost sa aming chances of winning," Dela Rosa said in a statement.

(This is a big boost to our chances of winning.)

Citing Pulse Asia’s March 2025 Ulat ng Bayan survey, Dela Rosa pointed out that Duterte enjoys strong public support, and many of her followers were likely to heed her endorsements.

The survey showed Duterte as the only top government official whose approval ratings improved, rising from 52% to 59%, while her disapproval rating fell from 26% to 16%.

"Alam naman nating out of all the national leaders, siya ang may pinakamataas na trust rating, 'di ba? Ibig sabihin, marami siyang followers," Dela Rosa said.

(We know that out of all the national leaders, she has the highest trust rating, right? That means she has many followers.)

Duterte expressed her support for the ten official candidates of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), including Dela Rosa. She also endorsed Senator Imee Marcos, sister of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., and Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar of Alyansa.

In a recent Social Weather Stations survey, Dela Rosa ranked sixth with a 32% voter preference rating.

"I feel happy. Despite the fact that my campaign strategy is guerilla-style, the numbers are rising, the numbers are increasing," Dela Rosa said. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
