75% of Filipinos prefer candidates who assert PH rights in WPS —SWS

Seventy-five percent of Filipinos prefer candidates who believe that the Philippines should assert rights against China’s aggressive actions in the West Philippine Sea (WPS), a commissioned Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.

The April survey, which was commissioned by Stratbase Group, showed that the percentage of Filipinos who prefer candidates that push for Philippine sovereignty in the WPS declined by three percent compared to the 78% from the survey conducted in February.

The percentage of Filipinos who think otherwise increased by three percent from 22% in February to 25% in April.

Most of those who prefer candidates who do not believe that the Philippines must assert its rights against China’s aggressive actions in the WPS came from Class E with 41%, ABC with 28%, and D with 24%.

The survey was conducted from April 11 to 14, 2025 through an interview among 1,800 respondents. It has a ±2% margin of error. —Hana Bordey/AOL, GMA Integrated News
