Comelec extends pre-voting enrollment for OVCS to May 10

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc has extended the enrollment period for the Online Voting and Counting System (OVCS) for the 2025 national and local elections from May 7 to May 10.
Comelec Memorandum No. 250714, issued on May 5, granted the request of the Office for Overseas Voting to extend the deadline for the pre-voting enrollment period.
It likewise approved the creation of 10 additional OFOV user accounts to allow "faster and more efficient ways of approving pending enrollment applications and performing manual verification” amid the expected influx of enrollees as the deadline for the registration draws near.
“The Commission, after due deliberation, resolved, as it hereby resolves, to approve the following requests of the Office for Overseas Voting, relative to the extension of the deadline for the online voting and counting system pre-voting enrollment,” the Comelec said.
As of May 6, 2025, around 200,000 overseas Filipino voters had registered for the pre-voting enrollment system, weeks after the Comelec opened the registration period on March 20.
There are 69.6 million registered voters for the May 12 polls, and of that number, 68.4 million are in the country, while 1.2 million are overseas voters. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
