Comelec partners with Grab for voter education on its platform

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) and Grab Philippines have signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to promote voters' education via the service’s mobile application.

“Mismong sa platform nila ay magbibigay sila sa atin ng voters’ education sa mga kababayan natin hanggang sa araw ng eleksyon,” Comelec chairman George Garcia said in an interview after the MOA signing that also included the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

(Through their platform they will provide voters’ education to our countrymen up to the day of the election.)

This voter education project will include Grab Philippines’ drivers.

According to Garcia, Grab will also offer free rides for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) on election day.

“Nag-o-offer din sila ng libreng sakay sa mga nakatatanda sa mga may kapansanan, sa kanila pong mga services sa araw ng eleksyon,” he said.

The Philippines is set to hold the midterm elections on May 12 where 12 senators and local candidates will be elected.
