PNP to deploy 160K cops nationwide for Eleksyon 2025
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now 100% ready to secure Eleksyon 2025 with the deployment of 163,000 police personnel across the country.
On Wednesday, PNP chief Police General Rommel Marbil made the statement during the activation of the Media Action Center (MAC) at the PNP Media Center in Camp Crame.
The MAC will serve as the central hub for coordinating information between the National Election Monitoring Action Center (NEMAC), the PNP, and national and local media.
According to Marbil, police regional offices starting Thursday will send off their respective personnel to their designated polling precincts and areas of concern.
An additional 38,000 personnel from partner government agencies will also be deployed to support security, traffic, and emergency response operations nationwide.

Operations of Kontra-Bigay, a campaign against vote-buying and other election-related violations, will formally start on May 9. The public is encouraged to report incidents through the PNP’s E-911 hotline.
Marbil also presented the PNP’s upgraded E-911 emergency response system, which he said will be critical in responding promptly to any election-related emergencies or threats.
“There must be no violence, no killings in the days leading up to, during, and after Election Day. The PNP’s duty is to guarantee HONEST, ORDERLY, and PEACEFUL elections,” Marbil said.
He reminded PNP personnel to maintain strict political neutrality, warning them against engaging in partisan activities or expressing political biases or else they will face disciplinary action and possible dismissal from the service.
"Let this be clear: our commitment is to serve the Filipino people — not politicians. Our duty is to uphold the law and protect the sanctity of the vote,” Marbil said.
Election Day is on May 12. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
