2 Solid North Bus drivers tested positive for drugs —DOTr
Two bus drivers of Solid North Bus Inc., which was recently involved in a fatal crash on Subic–Clark–Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), have tested positive for drugs, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Friday.
The result was from the mandatory drug test conducted by the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
“According to LTO, those who tested positive will be subjected to confirmatory tests, and may face perpetual revocation of their license and other criminal charges,” DOTr said in a statement.
Meanwhile, after undergoing roadworthiness inspection in Zambales, DOTr said 46 out of 276 Solid North Bus’ units were found to be compliant with roadworthiness standards.
The LTO continues to inspect the remaining bus units, according to the DOTr.
“These measures were implemented to ensure the safety of passengers, after one of Solid North Bus Inc.’s units was involved in the fatal Labor Day road crash in SCTEX, leaving 10 people dead,” DOTRr said.
“Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said the government is committed to uphold President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directives to ensure safety and convenience of the commuting public,” it added. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
