PH Red Cross: 2,260 volunteers, staff to be deployed for Eleksyon 2025

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) said it is ready for Eleksyon 2025 and will deploy over 2,000 staff and volunteers across various parts of the country for the midterm polls.
In a news release on Saturday, PRC said its volunteers and assets were activated from May 9 until election day, May 12, “to ensure safe, orderly, and peaceful polls.”
The PRC said it will be deploying 2,260 staff and volunteers, 28 emergency vehicles, 103 foot patrol units, and 51 mobile units.
It added that 38 ambulances are on standby in key areas while the rest of PRC’s 178 ambulances are on alert at local chapters.
PRC will also set up 291 first aid stations and 146 welfare desks in various locations —airports, arenas, barangay halls, bus terminals, PRC Chapters, event places, highways, malls, parks, schools, and train stations.
Red Cross 143 volunteers in every barangay will also remain on high alert.
As an auxiliary to the government, the PRC partnered with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Department of Health (DOH) to safeguard the welfare of Filipino voters through a memorandum of agreement signed on March 27.
In the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, PRC said it catered to 3,996 patients and mobilized 1,053 staff and volunteers, 22 roving teams, 17 on-foot patrols, 60 on-site standby ambulances, and established 226 first aid stations. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
