Marcos thanks mothers for their sacrifice: Their love knows no bounds

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Sunday honored mothers amid the celebration of Mother's Day as he thanked them for their love and sacrifice for their families.

In his social media account, Marcos shared a collage with his mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, his wife, First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos, and sister, Irene Marcos, at the center.

The President said ''mothers are the quiet strength behind every family.''

''They care, nurture, guide and give of themselves without asking for anything in return. Their love knows no bounds—and neither does their sacrifice,'' Marcos said.

''Ngayong Mother’s Day, taos-puso kong kinikilala at pinasasalamatan ang lahat ng ilaw ng tahanan. Maraming salamat sa inyong walang kapantay na pagmamahal at pagkalinga,'' he added.

(This Mother's Day, I wholeheartedly recognize and thank all the mothers who serve as the light of the home. Thank you very much for your boundless love and care.)

His elder sister, Senator Imee Marcos, was not included in the posted collage. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KG, GMA Integrated News
