Comelec canvassing board Senate party-list Eleksyon 2025

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc on Monday afternoon convened the National Board of Canvassers for the senatorial and party-list polls in Eleksyon 2025.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia, who serves as the chief and presiding officer of the canvassing body, officially declared the convening of the NBOC at around 3:31 p.m.

The NBOC session started with the entering of appearance of the legal counsels of the senatorial and partylist contenders.

It was followed by the initialization of the consolidation and canvassing system (CCS) which can only be prompted by entering the credential of Garcia.

After the system was initialized, the NBOC showed the candidates and partylists’ legal counsel, as well as the other election watchdogs, observers, and stakeholders, that the CCS has a clean slate and has no recorded votes when it was opened.

The NBOC immediately adjourned the session after the CCS was initialized. It will resume session on May 13 at 10:00 a.m. where they are expected to accept the certificates of canvass from all provinces in the country.

Apart from Garcia, the six other commissioners composed the NBOC, namely Commissioners Ernesto Maceda, Jr., Aimee Ferolino, Rey Bulay, Nelson Celis, Norina Tangaro-Casingal, Noli Rafol Pipo. –NB, GMA Integrated News
