Who are the candidates running unopposed in Eleksyon 2025?

While some candidates have been battling it out against each other in many areas of the country, others are running unopposed in their target posts for the 2025 midterm local and national elections.

Meanwhile, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is the sole candidate for the position of 2nd District Representative of Pampanga.

If elected, this will mark her second consecutive term as district representative after returning to Congress in 2022.

Aside from Arroyo, reelectionist Lani Mercado-Revilla is also running unopposed as 2nd District Representative of Cavite.

Automatic winners?

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Garcia, however, clarified that unopposed candidates are not automatically declared winners.

He said they must receive at least one vote to win the position.

"Dapat po may boto makuha kahit isa (they must receive a vote, even a single one)," Garcia told GMA News Online.

Should they fail to garner at least one vote, Garcia said the position will be declared vacant. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
