The wages of government officials are from the country’s taxpayers, a report on Unang Balita said Wednesday.
Based on data from the Department of Budget and Management, senators and members of the House of Representatives, including district and party-list representatives, are assigned to Salary Grade 31.
They earn P293,191 to P334,059 monthly.
Meanwhile, the Senate President and House Speaker are placed at Salary Grade 32, earning P347,888 to P398,686 monthly.
As for local officials, governors are assigned to Salary Grade 30. They earn P203,200 to P226,319 per month.
The wage of city mayors depends on where they are presiding. City mayors are also at Salary Grade 30, earning the same wage as governors.
