Bong Go tops Senate polls as Comelec wraps up nat’l canvass
The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), on Thursday night wrapped up the canvassing of votes in the senatorial elections, with reelectionist Senator Christopher “Bong” Go topping the race.
According to the national certificate of canvass, Go received 27,121,073 votes during the May 12 elections. A total of 66 candidates joined the senatorial race.
The Comelec said the 2025 canvassing was the fastest in election history.
But while the NBOC released the votes and rankings, it clarified it is not yet final and still subject to auditing.
Coming in second place is former Senator Bam Aquino with 20,971,899, followed by reelectionist Senator Ronald dela Rosa with 20,773,946 votes in third place.
Erwin Tulfo ranked fourth with 17,118,881 while ex-Senator Kiko Pangilinan landed at fifth with 15,343,229 votes. Sagip Partylist Rep. Rodante Marcoleta was sixth with 15,250,723.

The NBOC completed the tallying of 175 certificates of canvass (COCs) in three days after the board of canvassers convened on Tuesday, May 13.
Of the 175 COCs, one was from the local absentee voting, two from overseas board of canvassers, 82 were from provinces, 26 were from highly urbanized cities (HUCs), and 64 were from overseas voting.
On Tuesday, the NBOC tallied 58 COCs, the highest number of COCs canvassed during the first day of the canvassing. It completed the canvassing of 101 COCs on Wednesday and the remaining 16 COCs on Thursday. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
