Marcos recognizes women graduates of PMA Class of 2025

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Saturday recognized the women graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Siklab Laya” Class of 2025.

“It is also noteworthy the fact that of the 266 graduates today, 54 are women,” Marcos said in his speech at Fort del Pilar in Baguio City.

“Ang mga kababaihang kadete ng PMA ang patunay na ang tapang, talino, at galing ay hindi nakaaayon sa kasarian,” Marcos said.

(The female cadets of the PMA are proof that courage, intelligence, and skill are not gender-specific.)

“Nawa’y magsilbi kayong inspirasyon sa bawat batang babae nangangarap na magkaroon ng mahalagang papel sa ating bansa,” he added.

(May you serve as an inspiration to every young woman who dreams of playing an important role in our country.)

In a news release, the Presidential Communications Office said that the 266 PMA graduates will be deployed across the three major branches of the Armed Forces of the Philippines —137 will join the Philippine Army, 71 will serve in the Philippine Navy, and 58 will become part of the Philippine Air Force.

Marcos has also told graduates that modern warfare requires mental sharpness and compassion, noting that “warfare today goes beyond land, seas, and skies… we have battles that are invisible to radar—ones that take place in cyberspace.” —VBL, GMA Integrated News
