Marcos after Eleksyon 2025: 'We all wish we had better results'

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Saturday reflected on the results of the 2025 midterm elections.

“We all wish we had better results, but, you know, we live to fight another day,” said Marcos at the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas’ thanksgiving dinner in Mandaluyong City hours after the Commission on Elections proclaimed the 12 newly elected senators in the recently concluded Eleksyon 2025.

Of the 12 newly elected senators, six were endorsed by Marcos under the Alyansa coalition.

They are Senators-elect Erwin Tulfo, Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Pia Cayetano, Camille Villar, and Lito Lapid.

The President's sister, reelected Senator Imee Marcos, was initially part of the administration slate but was later on dropped after launching a probe into the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte by the International Criminal Court in connection with his war on drugs.

Duterte allies Bong Go, Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa, and Rodante Marcoleta were also elected.

Completing the list of winners are Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and Bam Aquino.

With the 2025 midterm elections now over, Marcos appealed to set aside politics and focus on the real issues of the country.

“But now it's time, I think, to put all the politics aside. It's time to put all of the issues that we raised during the election [aside] and only talk about not political issues but developmental issues, healthcare issues, education issues, agricultural issues, supply issues, all of these things,” the President said. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
