Arnie Teves brought to NBI after deportation from Timor-Leste
Former Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves, Jr. was brought directly from Villamor Air Base to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) office in Pasay City on Thursday night following his deportation from Timor-Leste, where he sought asylum.
According to GMA Integrated News’ James Agustin, Teves arrived at the NBI at 11:50 p.m.
A video and a photo from the NBI showed that Teves underwent a booking procedure and medical examination. He will spend the night at the NBI, the report added.
His legal counsel Ferdinand Topacio and Teves’ mother later arrived at the bureau's office.
Topacio earlier lamented that he was not allowed to meet with his client upon arrival at the Villamor Air Base.
The former lawmaker is facing murder, frustrated murder, and attempted murder charges over the alleged killing of Degamo and 10 others on March 4, 2023 at the Degamo residence in Pamplona, Negros Oriental.
Teves and others have also been charged with the alleged killings of three individuals in Negros Oriental in 2019.
He was expelled by the House of Representatives in August last year for disorderly conduct and continued absence.—Vince Angelo Ferreras/LDF, GMA Integrated News
