Torre to PNP officials: We must be fast, united, modern
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Nicolas Torre III ordered police officials to be fast, united, and modern during his first command conference as the head of the police organization on Tuesday.
“As we move forward, we will focus on delivering a brand of service that is fast, efficient, and always within reach of our people. We are strengthening our internal cohesion and ensuring that every member of the PNP family feels protected, valued, and heard,” Torre said.
“And most importantly, we will modernize—not just our tools and systems—but the way we lead and the way we serve,” he added.
Torre ordered the full implementation and enhancement of radio communications systems in all police stations across the country.
According to him, thorough inventory and assessment of the functionality of radios and other essential police equipment should be conducted.
Torre also set a strict three-minute response time for all police units addressing emergency and distress calls.
He said field commanders should maximize the deployment and usage of all patrol vehicles to boost police visibility and coverage in communities.
To ensure the welfare and efficiency of personnel, Torre ordered the enforcement of an eight-hour duty policy.
Torre also called for the availability of legal services for all police officers, not only for work-related concerns but also for personal matters.
“Let’s move as one organization—united in our mission and committed to real action on the ground. I am counting on every commander to take these directives seriously and make sure they are implemented consistently in every unit, across all regions,” Torre said. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
