Jay Ruiz reappointed as PCO acting secretary —Bersamin
Veteran journalist Jay Ruiz was reappointed as acting secretary of the Presidential Communications Office.
This was confirmed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin to GMA News Online on Tuesday morning.
Bersamin said Ruiz's reappointment paper was released yesterday, June 16.
To recall, the Commission on Appointments deferred the deliberation on Ruiz's appointment as PCO chief.
In a separate statement, Ruiz expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. for his continued trust and confidence to lead the PCO.
Ruiz said the fresh mandate is both an honor and a responsibility, which strengthens his resolve ''to serve with greater dedication, especially at a time when effective communication is central to the success of the administration’s programs.''
''Having witnessed firsthand the President’s tireless efforts to improve the lives of the Filipino people, I draw inspiration from his leadership—marked by quiet determination and an unwavering commitment to public service. It is this same spirit that drives me to lead the PCO with professionalism, integrity, and purpose,'' Ruiz said.
Further, Ruiz also thanked his colleagues in the media profession who have supported his leadership in the Marcos administration's communication arm.
''Your trust and encouragement affirm our shared commitment to responsible journalism and meaningful public discourse,'' Ruiz said.
''Together, we will continue to be invaluable partners in the fight against fake news and in empowering our fellow Filipinos through truthful, timely, and transparent communication,'' he added. — AOL/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
