Accused named 10 in missing sabungeros case, said there are over 100 victims, says SOJ

Alias Totoy, one of the accused in the abduction in 2021 of the missing sabungeros or cockfight watchers, has given the Department of Justice at least ten names of those allegedly involved in the alleged kidnapping, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said on Friday.

According to Saleema Refran's report on "24 Oras," the accused has said that there were more victims in the abductions related to the online cockfight operations than the 34 initially reported, and subjects of cases and investigations.

"Ang mahalaga determinado siyang sabihin lahat ng totoo. 'Yan ang mahalaga sa lahat," Remulla said of the accused.

(The important thing is that he's bent on telling all. That's the most important," he added.

Remulla said the authorities are already looking into how Totoy's revelations may be used as regards the cases.

Totoy has said that the missing sabungeros are already dead. After they were abducted, they were allegedly tied to sandbags before getting thrown into the Taal Lake.

Remulla said the DOJ has been seeking the help of the Philippine Navy and the Philippine Coast Guard so their divers may help in the recovery of some of the remains.

"Tinitingnan nating kung kaya i-recover kahit ilan du'n sa human remains sa Taal Lake," Remulla said. –GMA Integrated News
