NLEX Marilao northbound now completely passable after bridge repair

All four lanes of the North Luzon Express Way (NLEX) Marilao Northbound are now passable following a fatal accident last week when a truck hit the Marilao Interchange Bridge anew, the NLEX Corporation said Monday.

In a statement, the NLEX Corporation said that major structural repairs on Marilao Bridge was completed at midnight today.

“NLEX has expedited the repair work on the Marilao Bridge, which sustained significant damage due to a truck violating regulations,” it said.

“We sincerely thank the motoring public for their understanding and patience during the repair period,” it added.

Last week, a truck hit the Marilao Interchange Bridge, killing a 54-year-old passenger of an Asian utility vehicle (AUV).

Based on the initial investigation of the Marilao police, the trailer truck passed the Meycauayan exit to go back to Malabon, but it hit the interchange bridge on the northbound lane when it arrived in Marilao.

The Department of Transportation has said that NLEX Corporation is liable for the road mishap.

Meanwhile, the NLEX Corporation said it is committed to improving safety and traffic management. –NB, GMA Integrated News
