NAPOLCOM urges Patidongan to file affidavit amid claim cops linked to missing sabungeros

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) urged whistleblower Julie “Dondon” Patidongan alias Totoy to file a complaint affidavit with the agency as he claimed that some police officers were involved in the case of missing sabungeros or cockfight enthusiasts.

“Sa NAPOLCOM niyo i-file [affidavit] kasi mas mabilis nang tatlong beses kapag finile mo sa NAPOLCOM kasi hindi siya on-appeal,” NAPOLCOM vice chairperson Atty. Rafael Calinisan said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB on Saturday.

(You should file [the affidavit] with NAPOLCOM because it would be faster.)

“Sana i-file niya (alias Totoy) sa NAPOLCOM,” Calinisan said.

(I hope he files it with NAPOLCOM.)

The NAPOLCOM said earlier it already has a list of police officers linked to the case of the missing sabungeros.

The police officers linked to the case would be summoned to face an administrative probe.

“Kailangan lang talaga magsimula ang NAPOLCOM kasi nga siya ‘yung pulis ng mga pulis. Hindi puwede na hindi kami mag-imbestiga,” Calinisan said in a dzBB interview.

(It has to start with NAPOLCOM because it is the police of the police. We cannot not investigate.)

“So, while we’re investigating, we’re also careful with what we see, because at the end of the day, we are going to decide on the administrative aspect of the case. Very careful din tayo…kasi eventually kahit saan pa i-file na lugar…eventually, aakyat at aakyat ‘yung kasong ‘yan sa NAPOLCOM,” he said.

(We are very careful...because eventually regardless of where it will be filed... eventually, the case will reach the NAPOLCOM.)

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla on Friday said 15 police officers who allegedly carried out executions in the missing sabungeros case have been placed under restricted duty. —KG, GMA Integrated News
