Palace says Jay Ruiz still PCO acting secretary
Former broadcast journalist Jay Ruiz is still the acting chief of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Malacañang said Wednesday.
''Sa aking pagkakaalam, wala pa po. Nananatili pong acting secretary si Jay Ruiz,'' Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said when asked if there is already a new PCO secretary.
(From what I know, there's none. Jay Ruiz remains to be the acting secretary.)
Asked if she is denying reports that corporate communications executive Dave Gomez will replace Ruiz, Castro said no update was given to her.
''Hindi ko po made-deny, hindi ko rin po masasabing oo o hindi dahil wala pong sa akin pang nabibigay na anuman pong update,'' Castro said.
(I can't deny nor confirm because no update was given to me.)
Ruiz was reappointed by President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. as acting secretary of the PCO.
He already denied that he would be leaving the communications arm of the Marcos administration.
To recall, the Commission on Appointments deferred the deliberation on Ruiz's appointment as PCO chief. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
