Sharon Garin named as new DOE Secretary

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. has appointed former lawmaker Sharon Garin as secretary of the Department of Energy, Malacañang said on Thursday. 

According to Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, Garin has a strong background in energy policy and legislation ''to advance accessible, reliable, and sustainable energy for our people.'' 

When Garin replaced former Energy chief Raphael Lotilla, she led the Department of Energy as officer-in-charge. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
