PCG finds 2 more sacks in Taal Lake
Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) divers on Saturday recovered two sacks from Taal Lake in Laurel, Batangas as they continued the search for missing sabungeros allegedly buried in the area, Raffy Tima reported on ''24 Oras Weekend.''
The sacks, which also contained stones, were turned over to the PNP-SOCO and placed in cadaver bags.
PCG Commodore Geronimo Tuvilla said the search is challenging due to the underwater current and zero visibility.
“Naglalagay tayo ng buoy, ng flotation device, para mamarkahan natin, and yung mga divers di madisorient sa bottom to locate again those things na nakapa doon," he said.
(We placed buoys, flotation devices, to mark it and so that our divers won’t get disoriented when locating the objects.)
"Minamarkahan na kaagad, so that when the SOCO, CIDG, and NBI arrive, we’d be able to pick it up carefully from the bottom para mawitness yung pagkuha."

On Friday, divers found two sacks containing bones at the bottom of the lake. Another sack that contained burned bones was discovered on Thursday.
Taal Lake is being searched for bodies of the missing sabungeros, who were abducted in 2021 to 2022, after whistleblower Julie "Dondon" Patidongan stated that the cockfight enthusiasts were already dead and dumped in the lake. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/ VAL/VBL, GMA Integrated News
