MMDA warns against fake class suspension announcement

The MMDA has warned the public against a fake class suspension announcement as it reminded social media users to be critical and conduct fact-checking on the contents they post and share.

In a Facebook post, MMDA said the reported announcement on class suspension for July 14, Monday, was fake.

“Peke at hindi galing sa Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang anunsiyo hinggil sa umano'y class suspension bukas, Hulyo 14,” the MMDA said Sunday.

(The announcement regarding the alleged class suspension tomorrow, July 14, is fake and does not come from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.)

It said social media users should only share verified news and information from official government websites, social media accounts, and legitimate news websites, it added.

The MMDA advised the public to only check the agency’s official social media platforms on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Threads, Tiktok, and Youtube.

“If you receive any suspicious messages or posts on social media, you may call MMDA Hotline 136 or send a message to MMDA official accounts. Be careful and be vigilant,” the MMDA said. —Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
