Kin urge gov’t to hold Atong Ang accountable in missing sabungeros case

Families of the missing sabungeros, or cockfighting enthusiasts, urged the government to hold businessman Charlie ''Atong'' Ang accountable for their disappearance.

According to Allan Gatus’s Monday report on “Balitanghali,” the families were emotional as they made the remarks during the launching of the Justice for Missing Sabungero Network.

Because of their grief over what happened to their loved ones, some of them even called Ang a “monster” and “demon.”

However, the families also expressed hope with the revelations of whistleblower Julie "Dondon" Patidongan, alias Totoy, who was also present with the families of the missing sabungeros.

Patidongan was emotional as he said he remains alive to reveal what he knows about the missing sabungeros case.

He maintained his previous statement, tagging Ang as the mastermind behind the abductions.

Patidongan also linked a colonel who allegedly took his phone and passport.

He said he will reveal the colonel's name in the case he will file.

He hoped that the search and retrieval operation in Taal Lake would yield positive results.

After the press conference, Patidongan immediately left the venue, as his life was allegedly in danger.

Ang earlier denied the allegations against him. He also filed charges against Patidongan with the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
