Claire Castro submits courtesy resignation
Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro submitted her courtesy resignation on Wednesday.
Castro confirmed this to GMA News Online in a text message.
“Mayroon na po. Nagfile na ako,” she said.
This came after Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Dave Gomez ordered the submission of courtesy resignations after assuming the post as head of the agency.
Appointees have until Friday, July 18, to submit their courtesy resignations.
Earlier, Gomez said the request for courtesy resignation of the appointees is "part of the standard transition process."
“Until any action is taken by the Undersigned on such courtesy resignations, all Undersecretaries, Assistant Secretaries and Directors of the PCO-Central Office and Heads and other Presidential Appointees of Attached Agencies shall continue to report for work and perform their usual duties and responsibilities, subject to any modification that the new leadership of PCO may deem proper to adopt in the meantime,” he stated.
Gomez also said he would prioritize the performance audit within the agency.
"I need to conduct a fair, honest-to-goodness, unbiased performance audit of the office," he said. —Anna Felicia Bajo/LDF, GMA Integrated News
