Senate shortens work hours due to bad weather
Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero on Monday ordered the shortening of work hours at the upper chamber due to the bad weather.
In an advisory, it was stated that work at all Senate offices would only be until 2 p.m. on Monday, July 21.
“Personnel of the Office of the Sergeant-At-Arms and Maintenance and General Services Bureau who follow shifting schedule are not included in the shortened work hours,” the advisory added.
Classes in all levels and government work in Metro Manila and nearby provinces have also been suspended starting 1 p.m. of Monday due to bad weather, as indicated in the Memorandum Circular No. 88 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
State weather bureau PAGASA earlier issued a heavy rainfall warning over Metro Manila and several neighboring provinces as the southwest monsoon or Habagat continues to bring widespread rains. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
