Vergeire, 2 other officials leave DOH

Three officials of the Department of Health (DOH), including Undersecretary Dr. Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire, have stepped down from their positions.

Three officials of the Department of Health (DOH), including Undersecretary Dr. Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire, have stepped down from their posts.

Aside from Vergeire, Undersecretaries Achilles Gerard Bravo and Dr. Kenneth are no longer part of the agency as of Tuesday.

This was confirmed by DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa.

“Yes, it’s confirmed. You’ll have to ask them why… I think the two of them were beyond age of retirement,” Herbosa said in an ambush interview.

The three former officials were part of the DOH Executive Committee (Execom), and were all Career Executive Service Officers (CESOs).

In a message on Tuesday, DOH did not disclose the reason for their exit.

“Decisions of Execom members leading to their separation from the service (e.g., retirement, resignation, etc.) are personal in nature and treated with the utmost respect as to privacy,” said DOH Assistant Secretary Albert Domingo. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
