First Lady on Marcos' SONA call vs corruption: It's long overdue
First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos said Tuesday that the call for integrity among public officials has long been overdue.
In a social media post, the First Lady backed the remarks of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. against corrupt public officials, that they should be ashamed for stealing funds intended for flood control projects.
“I fully support the President’s call for honesty and integrity among public officials. It’s long overdue,” the First Lady said.
“Let this be the beginning of real accountability,” she added.
The First Lady said this should be “the end of people misusing my name to advance their selfish and corrupt agenda.”
Public service is a privilege, not a business, she said.
Marcos tasked the Department of Public Works and Highways to submit a list of flood control projects in the last three years.
He also vowed that those at fault would be charged and held liable for their actions. –NB, GMA Integrated News
