Marcos: India visit one of my most productive trips
President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. said that his state visit to India was one of his most productive and constructive trips, noting that he had seen more areas of potential between the two nations' cooperation.
''I have to say that we did not expect to cover much ground because we had very little time that we have had here. But I am happy to be able to report that that was not certainly not the case, and this has been one of my most productive and constructive visits that I have ever had," Marcos said during the dinner banquet hosted by Indian President Droupadi Murmu.
"And I attribute this to the enduring closeness between the Philippines and India,'' he added.
Marcos had engaged in a bilateral meeting with Murmu on the second day of his state visit to India and said that they have "discovered a multitude of possibilities and areas of potential."
The President also said that he looks forward to bringing home the gains from his engagements in India and ''carry forward the plans and initiatives that both sides have agreed to and to pursue through the Plan of Action.''
''May the roots of friendship continue to deepen,'' said Marcos.
The Philippines and India elevated their ties to strategic partnership, making New Delhi as Manila's fifth strategic partner.
Marcos and his delegation will return to the Philippines on Friday, August 8. –VAL, GMA Integrated News
