Over 9.5 million Pinoys affected by Habagat, Crising, Dante, Emong —NDRRMC
The number of individuals affected by the combined effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong reached 9,530,350, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Saturday.
This is equivalent to 2,599,712 families, the NDRRMC said in its situational report.
Of this number, 7,524 families or 28,703 persons were served inside 273 evacuation centers, while 12,004 families or 40,729 persons were served outside evacuation centers.
The reported death toll due to weather disturbances' combined effects was at 37, with five already validated and 32 still for validation.
Injuries numbered 32, with 24 validated and eight still to be validated.
Meanwhile, of the eight reported missing, four have already been validated, while four others are still for validation.
The NDRRMC also said 815 road sections and 43 bridges were affected.
There were 88,492 houses damaged in Region 1, Region 2, CAR, Region 3, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, NIR, Region 7, Region 9, Region 10, Region 11, Region 12, CARAGA, BARMM.
Damage to agriculture was estimated to cost P3,159,733,667.11 representing production loss.
A total of 98,307 farmers and fisherfolk were affected.
Infrastructure damage was pegged at P16,506,257,464.1, with affected regions as follows: Region 1, Region 2, CAR, Region 3, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Region 5, Region 6, NIR, Region 10, Region 12.
Meanwhile, 1,756,525 families required assistance at a cost of P1,289,345,766.17.
The government has so far assisted 1,398,874 families, the NDRRMC said. —KG, GMA Integrated News
