Vinny Marcos heads 'Bagong Pilipinas Youth'

Presidential son William Vincent "Vinny" Marcos is the chairman of the recently launched "Bagong Pilipinas Youth," an organization that aims to empower young Filipinos to become "proactive agents of change."

The youngest son of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr said the group is "a movement that encourages Filipino youth to stop waiting for opportunities and instead take the lead in creating them."

Bagong Pilipinas Youth said it will provide a platform and support for youth-led initiatives in civic engagement, education, leadership development, and innovation.

On Saturday, Vinny also led the opening of the Bagong Pilipinas Youth Hub as part of the national Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 festivities.

The hub is described as a "collaborative center where young people can gather to brainstorm, build, and bring their ideas to life."

During the launch, Marcos presented youth-generated project proposals such as: 

• A Youth Voters Registration Hub
• Monthly "Youth Hangouts" tackling relevant issues
• The Bagong Kabataan Academy for leadership and skills training film screenings, sports tournaments, and innovation exhibits
• Mental health caravans, anti-bullying seminars, and community clean-up drives
• Songwriting, band, and spelling competitions
• Relief distribution efforts and tutoring for out-of-school

Vinny also highlighted the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration to ensure the success of youth-led initiatives. This, as the group called on government agencies, the private sector, NGOs, schools, and communities to rally behind the youth and invest in their programs and leadership. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
