LGUs urged to use Filipino in transactions during Buwan ng Wika in August
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) urged local government units (LGUs) to use Filipino in all official transactions and communication during the Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa in August.
Under Memorandum Circular No. 2025-076, the DILG also called on provincial, city, municipal, and barangay officials to conduct related activities to encourage public participation and to further promote appreciation of the national language.
This year, the Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa has a theme “Paglinang sa Filipino at Katutubong Wika: Makasaysayan sa Pagkakaisa ng Bansa.”
It also has the following weekly theme:
- Aug 10–16: Wikang Pangkasarian
- Aug 17–23: Ang Pangangalaga sa Katutubong Wika at Kaalaman bilang Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan
- Aug 24–30: Filipino at Wikang Katutubo: Wika ng Malayang Pamamahayag
