LGUs urged to display PH flag on National Heroes Day
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Saturday directed all local government units (LGUs) to display the Philippine flag in public spaces on Monday when the country marks National Heroes Day.
"The DILG enjoins governors, mayors, and barangay leaders to ensure the proper and prominent display of the flag as a symbol of unity and nationalism," said the DILG through Memorandum Circular 2025-085.
DILG said that this year's theme is "Isang Diwa, Isang Lahi, Isang Bayanihan,” as it aims to highlight "the bravery of Filipino heroes, both known and unknown, who fought for freedom and dignity."
"Official rites will be held at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City, led by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines with partner agencies," said the DILG.
The agency urged Filipinos to "keep the legacy of our heroes alive through service, solidarity, and love of country." —VAL, GMA Integrated News
