Leni Robredo joins Mayors for Good Governance
Former vice president and incumbent Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo is among the latest local chief executives who joined the Mayors for Good Governance (M4GG), a movement which seeks to fight corruption.
In a social media post, the M4GG revealed that Robredo has been included in the first batch of local leaders for the term 2025-2028, who are pushing for accountability and transparency in the government.
Along with the former vice president is Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian, Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas, and over 40 other mayors from different parts of the country.
“Ang inyong pagiging bahagi ng aming misyon ay nagbibigay-lakas sa aming hangarin na isulong ang tapat at epektibong pamamahala sa buong bansa,” the M4GG said.
“Ngunit ang pagiging miyembro ng M4GG ay hindi lamang isang karangalan o ‘badge of honor.’ Ito ay isang malalim na pananagutan. Kinakatawan nito ang isang pangako na maglingkod nang may buong integridad at manindigan para sa kapakanan ng inyong nasasakupan. Ito ay isang responsibilidad na laging unahin ang transparency, innovation, at accountability sa bawat desisyon at aksyon,” it added.

According to the M4GG, all new members will begin under “observer” status, and will become an official member after joining at least three activities of the organization.
The movement is led by four convenors, namely: Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, and Isabela City, Basilan Mayor Sitti Hataman. — Giselle Ombay/RF, GMA Integrated News
