Vince Dizon asks DOJ to issue lookout order vs DPWH execs, contractors
Newly-installed Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon said Wednesday he requested the Department of Justice to issue an immigration lookout order against several officials of the DPWH and contractors involved in the ongoing probe into anomalous flood control projects.
“I’ve just signed a request to Justice Secretary [Jesus Crispin Remulla], copy furnished to Bureau of Immigration, for a lookout order for these individuals listed,” Dizon said during the turnover ceremony of the Department of Transportation’s leadership to Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez.
In his letter, Dizon told Remulla that the timely issuance of an immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) against the individuals tagged in the ongoing probe on flood control projects controversy is “of utmost necessity to enable current investigations to proceed without delay and hold those liable accountable to the Filipino people.”
Over 20 individuals are requested to be included in the immigration bulletin:

“In addition to the issuance of ILBO, may we further request that the Bureau of Immigration be instructed to immediately inform the DPWH and other law enforcement agencies of any information regarding the impending travel of these individuals,” Dizon said in his letter.
During a briefing following the turnover ceremony, the Public Works chief said the request for ILBO against the persons being probed “ is all part of the President’s directive to hold people to account.”
Sought for comment, Justice Secretary Jesus Cripin Remulla said he will sign the immigration lookout bulletin order.
"Pipirmahan ko mamaya...kasi ang tendency ng tao tumakas talaga. At the earliest opportunity, tatakas 'yan," Remulla told reporters.
(I will sign it later...because the tendency of people is to escape at the earliest opportunity.)
Dizon also said he will order a pause of the ongoing bidding of all locally funded projects nationwide.
On Tuesday, Dizon said he is eyeing to complete the reorganization of all officials of the DPWH from the highest ranks down to district engineers within the next 60 days as part of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s sweeping directive to cleanse the agency.
Dizon took his oath of office before Marcos at Malacañang on Monday morning as secretary of the DPWH, replacing Manuel Bonoan.
