35 individuals linked to flood control projects on lookout bulletin -BI
Thirty-five individuals allegedly involved in anomalous flood control projects have been added to the monitoring list of the Bureau of Immigration.
In a statement Thursday, BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said they received a copy of an immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) afternoon of September 3.
He said the BI is ordered to monitor the subjects “in view of the gravity of the allegations and the ongoing investigation, given that there is a strong possibility that the individuals named may attempt to evade legal processes by leaving the country.”
The order, signed by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, was based on the request of Senator Rodante Marcoleta, Blue Ribbon committee chairman, and Atty. Rodolfo Noel S. Quimbo, director general of the Blue Ribbon Oversight Office Management (BROOM).
Among those included in the list were Cezarah Discaya, Ma. Roma Discaya Rimando, Allan Quirante, Alex and Raymond Abelido, and 30 others.
Viado clarified that the ILBO is for monitoring purposes only, and not a sufficient to stop a subject from leaving the Philippines.
The order requires immigration officers to verify from relevant government agencies if there are freshly issued orders relating to the subjects should they attempt to depart. Officers are also instructed to collect necessary information about the subject’s travel, to aid in the investigation being conducted against them.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
