Marcos arrives at Cambodia's Peace Palace to meet with PM Hun Manet

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Monday arrived at Cambodia’s Peace Palace as part of his state visit in the country.

Marcos, accompanied by First Lady Louise ''Liza'' Araneta-Marcos, was welcomed by Acting Head of State and Senate President Hun Sen.

The Philippine President will meet with Prime Minister Hun Manet to discuss agreements as regards higher education, air services, and the combat against transnational crimes.

Before going to the Peace Palace, the First Couple participated in a wreath laying ceremony at the Independence Monument to honor Cambodia's independence.

Marcos also offered a wreath at the adjacent monument of the Late King-Father of Cambodia, His Majesty Norodom Sihanouk.

The Philippines and Cambodia are expected to ink several agreements during Marcos' visit in Phnom Penh, particularly combating transnational crimes and higher education.

Marcos is also expected to keynote a roundtable meeting with key business leaders from both countries to explore ways to diversify sources of goods and expand market access between the two countries. —KG, GMA Integrated News
