No tsunami threat to PH after Vanuatu earthquake —PHIVOLCS

There is no threat of tsunami to the Philippines after a strong earthquake hit Vanuatu Islands region Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.

PHIVOLCS issued the advisory after a magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit Vanuatu at 5:48 a.m. at a depth of 10 km.

The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) however reported the Vanuatu earthquake as having magnitude 6.06. —KG, GMA Integrated News
