House invites Grace Poe, Zaldy Co in flood control probe
The House Infrastructure Committee has invited former Senate Finance Committee Chairperson Grace Poe, Ako Bicol party-list Rep. and former House appropriations panel chairperson Zaldy Co, and former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) official Roberto Bernardo to face the flood control projects investigation.
This developed after the same House panel approved the motion of Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice, arguing that these personalities should explain why there were insertions or congressional initiatives on budget items in the national budget for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025.
"This is P1 trillion worth of insertions. They should explain," Erice said.
GMA News Online has reached out to Poe for comment, but she has yet to reply as of posting time.
House Infrastructure Committee chairperson and Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Terry Ridon earlier said that Co has been invited to face the House control probe when the committee learned that a Plaridel, Bulacan flood control project was a congressional insertion under the 2025 national budget.
Earlier, Bulacan 1st district assistant engineer Brice Ericson Hernandez claimed during the same hearing that some senators are involved in alleged anomalous flood control projects. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
