'IT'S HIS JOB'

Sarah Discaya not angry with Michael V. impersonation, says lawyer

Sarah Discaya, one of the contractors caught in the middle of the ongoing issue of anomalous government flood control projects, is not angry over her impersonation by comedian Michael V., according to her lawyer on Wednesday.

“Hindi po. Okay lang sa kanya. Alam mo naman si Sir Bitoy, talaga namang, idol ko nga yan,” Atty. Cornelio Samaniego III said in an ambush interview when asked if Sarah was angry with the comedian’s impersonation.

(No. It's okay with her. You know, that’s Sir Bitoy, he's my idol actually.)

Samaniego said Sarah was aware of the skit inspired by the current hearing on the flood control project issue involving her to which she does not take offense or elicited any "violent reaction".

“Nirerespeto natin si Michael V. Idol natin iyan sa Bubble Gang. Trabaho niya yan. Parang ako, abogado, trabaho ko ito. Si Sir Michael, trabaho niya yun. Doon siya kilala. So, bakit tayo magagalit?” he said.

(We respect Michael V. He's our idol in Bubble Gang. That's his job. The same with me, a lawyer, this is my job. That is his job. He is known for that. So, why would we be angry?)

The response from the Discaya camp came after Michael V. recently unveiled “Ciala Dismaya”, his newest parody character on GMA Network's long-running comedy program Bubble Gang that was inspired by the woman contractor who captured national attention after she was required to appear before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.

The Bubble Gang episode featuring Ciala Dismaya is set to air on September 14, Sunday, at 6:10 p.m. — RF, GMA Integrated News
