DMW labor attache in LA recalled amid 'DPWH contractor' allegations

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has recalled Los Angeles Labor Attaché Macy Maglanque amid allegations that she is the president of a firm linked to multi-billion flood control projects. 

DMW said the recall was for Maglanque face investigations to be held by the government.

“Today ay nag-issue na tayo ng recall order para harapin niya ang imbestigasyon, kasi ang pahiwatig naman ng ating mahal na Pangulo sa kaniyang [Executive Order] 94 na bumubuo ng komisyon ay honesty, integrity, and service governance at accountability,” said Cacdac in an interview.

(Today, we have issued a recall order for her to face the investigation, because what our beloved President implied in his [Executive Order] 94 that created the commission was honesty, integrity, service governance, and accountability.)

Maglanque was named as the president of MBB Global Properties by Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chair Senator Panfilo Lacson. 

Lacson said she is one of the children of Candaba, Pampanga Mayor Rene Maglanque who is the former president of construction company Globalcrete Builders, which allegedly secured P2.19 billion worth of flood control projects from 2018 to 2024 in Bulacan alone.

The DMW , meanwhile, assured that they will implement the necessary measures to ensure integrity within the agency for the welfare of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).  —Jiselle Anne Casucian/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
