Sara Duterte attends House hearing on OVP proposed 2026 budget

Vice President Sara Duterte attended Tuesday the deliberations of the House appropriations committee on her office's proposed P889 million budget for 2026.

The Vice President showed up alone and presented the budget proposal herself.

Before Duterte presented the budget proposal, Palawan Representative Jose Pepito Alvarez clarified reports that the Vice President was a no show during last week's scheduled deliberations. 

"Ako po ang ang request na mag-defer (I was the one who requested that we defer the deliberations)," Alvarez said.

The House appropriations panel deferred Friday the scheduled deliberations on the Office of the Vice President's proposed budget after it disallowed the agency from sending representatives whose ranks are lower than undersecretary. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
