DILG to LGUs: Evacuate families on path of super typhoon Nando
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has instructed local government units to enforce preemptive evacuation of families on the path of super typhoon Nando.
At the same time, the Department of Health also reminded the public to adopt safety and health measures, and call the National Emergency Hotline 911 in cases of emergency.
"With Nando now stronger, LGUs must waste no time in moving families out of danger zones," DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla said in a statement.

He said the directives must be carried out "swiftly and without delay."
Remulla said the DILG is working with Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and local chief executives to ensure compliance and to guarantee that all barangays are prepared.
In a separate briefing, the Department of Social Welfare and Development said food packs and emergency kits are prepositioned for distribution to the affected families when needed.
The Office of Civil Defense said it P88 million worth of medical and other supplies are also ready for distribution. Medical, rescue and telecom teams are also on alert. Evacuation centers are also prepared for families needing temporary shelters.
