ICI adviser Magalong at EDSA: Protests challenge flood control project investigations

Independent Commission for Infrastructure special adviser Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong showed up at the EDSA Shrine, saying the day’s protest marches, against corruption amid the billions of pesos lost to ‘ghost’ and substandard flood control projects, put pressure on investigations to produce results.

Magalong told GMA Integrated News that the ICI was not only focusing on flood control projects but would also look into any infrastructure that is alleged to be anomalous.

We have to hit the ground running and continue to hit the ground running.

"Kailangan may mananagot at kailangan 'yung mananagot, makukulong," Magaloong said.

(The protests have a huge effect because it shows the people are listening and following the results of the different investigations. This is a challenge, especially for the ICI to produce results. We can't be caught sleeping on the job. That's the pressure for us. The expectation is high, the pressire is high for us to deliveer results... People should be held liable and those who are liable, should be jailed.) –NB, GMA Integrated News
