14 reported dead due to Habagat, Mirasol, Nando, Opong —NDRRMC

Fourteen people have been reported dead due to the combined effects of southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones Mirasol, Nando, and Opong, based on data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council released Friday.

NDRRMC said of the 14, three have been confirmed while 11 are still for validation. 

Seventeen were also reported injured, 10 have been confirmed while seven are still for validation. On the other hand, two were reported missing, one has been confirmed while the other is still for validation.

A total of 303,537 families or 1,212,712 people were affected in 11 regions. A total of 57,530 people from Regions 1, 2, 3, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, 5, Cordillera  Administrative Region, and Negros Island Region were preemptively evacuated.

NDRRMC said 120 infrastructures, including roads, bridges, flood control, schools, and government facilities, were damaged with an estimated cost of P794,812,974.05.

The agriculture sector also suffered P38,574,114.62 worth of damage affecting 1,128 farmers and fisherfolks and 959.31 hectares of crops. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
