Quiboloy in hospital due to pneumonia —BJMP
Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy was rushed to the hospital after experiencing difficulty in breathing on September 11, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology said Tuesday.
“BJMP confirms that PDL Apollo C. Quiboloy was rushed to a public hospital on 11 September 2025 due to difficulty in breathing,” BJMP spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera told GMA News Online in a message.
“He was later diagnosed with Community Acquired Pneumonia (Moderate Risk),” he added.
Quiboloy is a Pasig City Jail detainee.
According to Bustinera, the Regional Trial Court 159 in Pasig City, which is handling Quiboloy’s case, was immediately informed about the detainee’s condition.
The Pasig court on September 15 issued an order authorizing Quiboloy’s hospitalization.
“As of 30 September 2025, he is stable and recovering in a public hospital, in line with BJMP policies on medical care for [persons deprived of liberty],” Bustinera said.
On January 23, it was also reported that Quiboloy was brought to the hospital due to pneumonia. He was transferred back to Pasig City Jail on February 12.
Quiboloy is currently facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, as amended, before the Pasig court.
The Davao City-based religious leader is also facing charges under Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
