SWS: 46% of Pinoys satisfied with Marcos' performance in Q2 2025


Net satisfaction ratings of presidents from May 1986 to June 2025

Close to half, or 46% of Filipinos were satisfied with the performance of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey done in June.

Thirty-six percent meanwhile were dissatisfied, while 19% were undecided, results of the non-commissioned SWS Second Quarter 2025 Social Weather Survey done from June 25-29 showed.

"The resulting net satisfaction rating is +10 (% satisfied minus % dissatisfied), classified by SWS as moderate1 (+10 to +29)," the SWS said.

The +10 net satisfaction rating of Marcos in June was a 20-point rise from the -10 rating (classified by SWS as poor) in April. His net satisfaction ratings in the past were very good +32 in September 2024 and neutral +1 in February 2025.

Marcos' 46% gross satisfaction rating was also an improvement from the 38% last April, it added. Meanwhile, the gross undecided of 19% was a rise from the 14% in April, and gross dissatisfaction of 36% was a decline from April's 48%.

Geographical areas

The President's net satisfaction rating registered highest in Balance Luzon at good +28. Metro Manila followed at neutral +1, Visayas at neutral -2, and Mindanao at neutral -9.

The SWS classifies ratings as follows: +70 and above, "excellent"; +50 to +69, "very good"; +30 to +49, "good" and traditionally termed a "honeymoon"; +10 to +29, "moderate"; +9 to -9, "neutral"; -10 to -29, "poor"; -30 to -49, "bad"; -50 to -69, "very bad"; -70 and below, "execrable". 

"Compared to April 2025, President Marcos' net satisfaction rating rose by 27 points from poor -14 to moderate +13 in urban areas, and 11 points from neutral -4 to neutral +7 in rural areas," the SWS said.

Sex, age groups

Among men respondents, Marcos' net satisfaction rating was a moderate +11, and a moderate +10 among women respondents.

Meanwhile among all age groups, the President's net satisfaction rating rose except among 18-24-year-olds.

It was very good +32 among those 55 years old and above; neutral +5 among those 45-54 years old; neutral +5 among 35-44-year-olds; neutral +4 among those aged 25 to 34 year old; and poor -18 among 18-24-year-olds.

Educational groups

Marcos' net satisfaction rating showed the highest at good +34 among those who either had no formal education or some elementary education (non-elementary graduates).

Among those who either finished elementary or had some high school education , respondents' results yielded a good +21 net satisfaction rating.

This was followed by the following:

  • those who either finished junior high school and had some vocational schooling (junior high school graduates) at moderate +10;
  • those who either had some senior high school, finished senior high school, completed vocational school, or attended some college (some senior high school) at neutral -2; and
  • those who either graduated from college or took post-graduate studies (college graduates) at poor -13.

Survey details

The company conducted the survey via face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults from June 25-29, 2025. Three hundred respondents each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon (Luzon outside Metro Manila), Visayas, and Mindanao were asked the following question:

“Maaari po bang pakisabi ninyo kung gaano kayo nasisiyahan o hindi nasisiyahan sa pagganap ng tungkulin ni FERDINAND MARCOS, JR. bilang Presidente ng Pilipinas. Kayo ba ay lubos na nasisiyahan, medyo nasisiyahan, hindi tiyak kung nasisiyahan o hindi, medyo hindi nasisiyahan, lubos na hindi nasisiyahan, o wala pa kayong narinig o nabasa kahit na kailan tungkol kay FERDINAND MARCOS, JR.? [Please tell me how satisfied or dissatisfied you are with the performance of FERDINAND MARCOS, JR. as President of the Philippines. Are you very satisfied, somewhat satisfied, undecided if satisfied or dissatisfied, somewhat dissatisfied, very dissatisfied, or you have not ever heard or read anything about FERDINAND MARCOS, JR.?]” 

SWS said sampling error margins are ±3% for national percentages and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

"The area estimates were weighted by the Philippine Statistics Authority medium-population projections for 2025 to obtain the national estimates," the SWS said. —KG, GMA Integrated News
